Card 05.10 Rotary mowers
THE RISK:
- Crushing (during machine-tractor connecting operations; due to machine instability and consequent fall during separating phase and operator trapped between tractor and machine)
- Fluid projection under pressure (hydraulic pipes wrong connection and/or pipes breaks)
- Entangling, dragging and rolling up (body parts or clothes touching moving devices)
- Contact with projected materials (projection material intercepted by blades, blades themselves and/or fragments of tools themselves which break)
- Contact and shearing (with moving shearing devices)
PRACTICAL AND OPERATING INDICATIONS:
Protections shall be opened only by means of a tool and they shall remain attached to the machine when opened; their closure must be automatic, without the need of tools.
It is necessary to check the rod stability before any operation.
When the rod is not working, it shall be covered with a rubber, steel or other material cover.
- in case of rotating rotary mowers the operator must pay attention to the moving shearing devices;
- in case of rotating cylinder mowers, the operator must pay attention to the swinging blade-contra-rotating blade;
- it is forbidden to remove protections (projection of material or broken/worn out tool parts pose serious hazard to people next to the machine).
Assicurarsi della stabilità della macchina.
Il telo di protezione deve essere fissato tra due elementi metallici e non devono essere presenti bordi taglienti che possano venire in contatto con il telo.
Se il telo è collegato direttamente ad un elemento metallico, esso deve essere fissato con viti dotate di rondelle con bordo non tagliente.
Se il telo è col egato indirettamente (es.: inserimento su un tubo) gli elementi di aggancio non devono avere bordi taglienti.
Non avvicinarsi agli organi trancianti in movimento.
Proteggere con carter e/o con protezioni conformi ai requisiti di legge, tutti gli organi o elementi di trasmissione del moto (cinghie, catene di trasmissione, pulegge, ecc.).
Le protezioni devono potersi aprire solo mediante l'utilizzo di un attrezzo e devono rimanere solidali alla macchina quando sono aperti; e la loro chiusura invece deve essere automatica, senza l'ausilio di un attrezzo.
Accertare la stabilità della barra prima di qualsiasi operazione.
Se non in utilizzo, la barra deve essere coperta da apposita copribarra in gomma, acciaio o di altra natura.
Prestare particolare attenzione durante la manutenzione alle lame di taglio.
FURTHER INDICATIONS AND ADVICE
- It is necessary to check compatibility between machine and tractor.
- Staff shall attend specific training courses. The machine shall be operated only by authorized operators, fully formed and provided with specific driving licence.
- It is advisable to keep clean the machines removing foreign material (detritus, mowing remains etc) which may harm the operator and may damage the machine’s working.
- While using these machines, operator shall pay attention to specific crop which, if high, may hidden small animals or dangerous obstacles.
- It is necessary to substitute protection hinges whenever worn out.
- Operators shall not substitute cutting tools with non-original or incompatible spare parts.
